Spring is in the air — although it doesn’t feel like it yet! Except for all the sneezing and itchy eyes. But what a beautiful place Canberra can be in the spring.
Spring inspires all kind of artistic expression including nail art. When I started nails 2008, nail art was not very popular, but thanks to social media and clients having wonderful imaginations it has certainly taken off in a big way!
Each nail technician has their own abilities and skill set when it comes to nail art. Some are naturally talented with this kind of intricate work. One that comes to mind is the lovely @nailsbylaurissa, while I also love the fun and bold creations from another Canberra local @getnayld.
These types of designs take time and a natural artistic flare that I have never claimed to have. My nail art is what I call simple yet elegant. Often when a client sends me a picture of the type of nail art they want I spend time practicing so that I can provide the best outcome for them. Occasionally however, I have to be honest and let my client know the type of nail art they hope for is above my skill set and time availability. I would never want to let a client down by attempting something I know I could not perfect in a reasonable amount of time. While I am always working to increase my skills and techniques, not all nail art can be achieved by all nail technicians.
So if you're looking to get some nail art done during your next appointment, send me a picture ahead of time. That way, if I feel that I won't be able to achieve what you are looking for, I will make sure that I can send you in the direction of someone that can.
