Hello ladies! It’s been too long since I’ve added to my blog and for that I am sorry. But with the new year, new goals and new products, you will be hearing from me more often. This time I want to talk about BIAB gel. What is BIAB? Is it healthier? How long does it last?
BIAB - builder in a bottle is a builder gel that comes in a bottle. That means that it’s much stronger than gel polish but not quite as durable as hard gel.
BIAB is perfect over natural nails and comes in many different colours but also in a clear finish. It has a much thinner finish than hard gel but on natural nails is just as strong. However BIAB is not quite strong enough for extensions. I always use hard gel over extensions because the client deserves nails that are guaranteed to last and hard gel provides the strength that extensions need to survive busy hands. Once extensions have grown out (usually after 1 or 2 infills) then I switch to BIAB for a more natural look that provides flexibility and without the bulky feel. With after nail care by the client - daily cuticle oil application and hand cream, BIAB application can last between 4-6 weeks.
Is BIAB healthier?
Not really. Nails are dead skin. What damages the nail plate is poor application by the nail technician, poor removal of product such as too much filling of the natural nail or removal by the client when the product is picked or peeled off. No product - whether gel or acrylic or BIAB can harm or is "better"for the nail although there are lots of marketing pitches that say otherwise.
I LOVE BIAB because it’s quick and easy to apply and remove. It looks so much more natural than hard gel and lasts three times longer than soft gel (gel polish) There are many BIAB gel brands out there, rest assured I use the best brand on the market so you are guaranteed a perfect finish.
Don't hesitate to send me a message with any questions you may have about BIAB and whether it might be the best solution for you.
Until next time - be good, be kind, be beautiful 🌹
